I came across a couple old paper label root beer bottles at the fleamarket the other day. I realized I did not have very many of them and how hard they are to find. I have found some old Hires bottles that are completely blank, but say HIRES on the bottom, because they are missing the paper labels.
So I came home of decided to post all of the paper label root beer bottles I have. I have 16 of them. Of course today most of the premium root beers are using paper labels, but I am only looking at older ones in this post.
This one was produced by Royal Crown Cola.
Copyright on this bottle is 1944
I have some of these bottles missing the label, but found this one on a trip through Iowa a few years back.
Produced in Denver Colorado, this bottle is from 1949.
I think this one is from 1973
I think this one is from 1973 and is 11 oz
I think this one is from 1971 and is 29 oz
From Leadville Colorado in 1915
I think this one is from 1968 and is 16 oz
These seem to be from the 1930's. Both ate 12 oz. The King Size "Junior" is black and the "Junior" is Blue.
THis one appears to be from 1976 and in 1/2 Gallon
I have no idea what year this one if from. A friend told it was from 1920 but I could find no proof.
Label says 7 oz but it is in a 12 oz bottle. Likely from the late 40's as they were bought by Canada Dry after that.
Label says 12 oz but is in a 7 1.2 oz bottle. Bottle also says Rosebud bottling, Forsyth Mont.
If you have some old paper label root beer bottles that are not shown here, send me a picture and I will add them to this post. tom,floodeen@gmail.com
Here are some pictures from my friend in Texas, Art Pettit
